Shelley Gitomer

CONSULTANT

Shelley Gitomer has devoted her entire career to the field of philanthropy, sharing her knowledge and expertise with both the corporate and non-profit sectors.  She is currently serving as a consultant focusing on corporate philanthropy, fundraising strategies, volunteer engagement and foundation management.

 

In her most recent role as the Vice President of Philanthropy & Community Engagement with MGM Resorts International, Gitomer led a team whose work resulted in MGM Resorts having a significant impact in the local and national communities, receiving recognition as a forerunner for corporate social responsibility.  She also served as the President of MGM Resorts Foundation.

Before joining MGM Resorts, Gitomer served for 10 years as Vice President for Development at Nevada Cancer Institute.  Prior to that, she was the Assistant Dean for Development & Alumni Relations at the University of Maryland School of Law where she successfully led the school’s first major capital campaign for building expansion. Her previous experience also includes work for the Johns Hopkins Cancer Center where she managed a comprehensive program to meet capital, endowment and programmatic needs in cancer research and patient care.

 

Gitomer has served on the advisory boards of Teach for America, Public Education Foundation, and the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas.  She was also the founding Co-Chair of the Nevada Corporate Giving Council.
